Leo Garrett

January 29, 1936 — November 7, 2024

Leo Garrett,88, widower of Brenda Davis Garrett since 1995, joined her in eternal rest on Thursday, Nov. 7 2024, while a patient at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born Jan. 29,1936, the oldest of 8 children of the late Willie and Bessie Webb Garrett. In addition to his wife Brenda. Leo will be met at the river by brothers David and his wife Becky, and Ronnie as well as his sister Sharon Garrett. He  was a US Army Veteran, a retired employee of IBM and the Jessamine County Board of Education where he enjoyed mowing the school grounds.  Farming in his early years left him with knowledge of raising tobacco, cutting hay and riding horses which trail riding with friends became his passion. In later years he enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and became an avid fan of UK Basketball especially the women’s team. He leaves to cherish his memories children Michael Garrett, Sr., wife Sherry, and Kristie Garrett as well as brothers Jerry Garrett, wife Bobbye, Tommy Garrett, wife Joyce and Larry Garrett wife Donna and sister Reva Rader, husband Joe.  He will be remembered by his grandchildren who were the light of his life Kelsey Gaffield, husband Peter and Michael Garrett Jr. And great grandchildren Allie Garrett, Jackson Garrett,  Mason Garrett. He. Is also survived by a bother in law Daniel Davis, wife Sonya. A Remembrance Service will be held 11:00AM Nov, 12, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Brother Bill Bales officiating .He will be laid to rest beside his wife in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens following the Service.  Honoring him as pallbearers will be Peter Gaffield, Michael Garrett, Jr., Ryan Owens, Fred Burczyk, Robbie Russell, Jacob and Landon Ritchey Leo’s family will greet friends on Monday evening beginning at 4:00 PM and ending at 8:00 PM at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home.   “His life was a blessing and his memory a treasure and he will he missed beyond measure”.   All arrangements are under the direction of Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home and we would like to express our deepest sympathy to the Garrett family and friends.
