Mr. Lester Turner, Jr.

Lester Turner, Jr. left his earthly home Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at the University of Kentucky Hospital. He was the loving husband of Patty Harrington Turner for 34 years. A native of Hazard, KY born Dec. 14, 1958, to Pauline Russell and the late Lester Turner, Sr. He was self employed in the drywall business having been a former employee of Southern Drywall. Jr. loved cookouts with his family and spending time with the grandchildren. He was an avid NASCAR fan having participated in Demolition Derbies. He and his family won the Demolition Derby Points Championship in 1991. He also was a Red Mile Harness Racing fan as well as UK basketball. He leaves these memories and many more with his children Tish, Kendal, Anthony and Sonny Turner, grandchildren Allie, Lexie, Sara, Maddie, Libby, Sammy, and Baby Kira. He will be missed by his sister Charlotte Adkins, and brothers Mike, wife Nancy, Sonny, wife Tina, and Jonathon, wife Linda as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Anthony Turner, sisters Billie Paulette Rhodes and Pearletta Turner, and brother-in-law Verlin "Bud" Adkins. A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, April 13, at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Lexington. His family will greet friends Wednesday from 11:30 to 12:30PM at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home.
