Lilburn Penick Fain

Lilburn Penick Fain, 93, went to be with Jesus on August 7, 2016. He was a native and lifelong resident of Jessamine County. Lilburn was born Oct. 30, 1922, to the late Larkin Davis and Minnie House Fain. He was the widower of Rose Underwood Fain since 2002. In addition to his loving wife, he was preceded in death by sisters Marie and Robin Fain, Rena King and husband Forrest, brother Stansell and wife Isabel Fain, as well as a son-in-law Brent Sears and niece Wanda King. He is survived by daughters Sharon Sears, Cheryl Plotts, husband Bob, and Becky Troope, husband Wayne, grandchildren Dixie Leigh Campbell, husband Chris, Micah F. Plotts, wife Terri, Shelly Miller, husband Jeremy, and Shane Sears, wife Michelle, 12 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren, as well as his brother Bob Fain, wife Janice. Farming was Lilburn's passion and his life. He was a member of the Little Hickman Christian Church where he served as Elder for several years and was caretaker of the House Cemetery for many years. His family remembers him as a wonderful father who loved them and who served the Lord well. A Remembrance Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, Aug. 12, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. Following the service, he will be laid to rest beside his wife at the House Cemetery. Honoring him as pallbearers will be Richard Fain, Robbie Fain, Brandon Plotts, Micah Plotts, Shane Sears, Chris Campbell, and Jeremy Miller. Honorary bearers will be Joe Curry Peel, John Blankenship, Roger Fain, Wayne Troope, and Jennings Perkins.
His family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 to 8 PM on Thursday, Aug. 11. Donations may be made in his memory to the Little Hickman Christian Church. Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home is honored to serve Lilburn's family.
