Linda Elizabeth Hudson, 76, loving wife for 55 years of Charles Barry Hudson departed this life surrounded by her loved ones at the Hospice Care Center in St. Joseph Hospital. Linda was born May 18, 1943, to the late John C. and Carrie Elizabeth Hawkins Armstrong in Denver Colorado. She was a graduate of Fugazzi Business College, where she met her husband Charles. She had a passion for animals of all types—especially her bird “LB,” who she raised from a hatchling and is now 36 years old. She also loved to read, work crossword puzzles, crochet and listen to gospel music. In addition to her husband, she will be fondly remembered by her children Carrie Elizabeth Rayburn, husband Scott, Sara Ann Hudson, and John Edward Hudson, wife Heather, as well as her grandchildren Thorin Ross, wife Liz, Brittany Makin, Tara and Hannah Friedel, great grand children Clay Mattingly and Xzavier Alan Robinson, all of whom she was instrumental in rearing and was affectionately known to all as “Nanny.” She devoted time to teach them to make pies, biscuits, sew and create many types of arts and crafts. She leaves her memories with sister Julia Ann Sturdevan, husband David and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. A Graveside Service will be held 3:30 PM on Friday Jan. 24, at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Linda’s family will greet friends Thursday beginning at 4:00 PM and ending at 8:00 PM at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. “Linda will be remembered for her laughter and sense of humor”. Hager & Cundiff values nothing more than the trust given to us by the Hudson family.
