Mrs. Lois Tupts Reed, widow of Roland T. Reed since November 16, 1990, joined him in eternal rest on Monday, October 26, 2020.     She was born May 31, 1938 in Lexington, KY to Omer and Ruth Corman Tupts.  She had attended Mt. Freedom Baptist Church in Wilmore, and she married Roland on October 17, 1952.  Lois was a fine cook and loved to host large family dinners on Sundays.  If someone in the family couldn’t be there, she had been known to say (with a twinkle in her eye), “If you can’t come this week, don’t expect nothing next week!”  Those gatherings were precious times to her and her family. She leaves her memories with children Judy Wheeler, Rita Simpson, Betty “Hootie” Boh, husband John, Tom Reed, Wesley Reed, Danny Reed, wife Tammy, Mark Reed, wife Sue, and John Reed, wife Tanya, and 21 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.  In addition to her husband and parents, Lois was preceded in death by a son Larry A. Reed, a grandson Michael Crutcher, and all her siblings, including her sister June Cartwright, to whom she was especially close.  Her family will honor her with a Remembrance Service at 1:00 PM Friday, October 30, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home, after which she will be laid to rest beside her husband at Maple Grove Cemetery.  Honoring her as pallbearers will be Chris Wheeler, Lance Simpson, Scotty Lowery, Matthew Dawes, Joey Reed, and Timothy Reed.  Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandchildren. The family will greet friends Thursday at the funeral home beginning at 4:00 PM and ending at 8:00 PM, and also on Friday from 12:00 PM until time of the service.  “You’ll never forget your mother’s face, the lessons she taught, the things she stood for. . . They are her gift and your legacy.”  Hager & Cundiff values nothing more than the trust placed in us by the Reed Family to care for Lois.
