Loretta Ysette Cobb Burton, age 89, wife of the late Worley Carter Burton, of Nicholasville, died August 14, 2013. She was the second child born to the late Thelma Hager Cobb and Hubert Thomas Cobb. She was a member of Mt. Lebanon United Church and the United Methodist Women. She was a woman of great faith and lived her life as a Christian. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister and was affectionately known as "Aunt Redley". She is survived by one son, Tommie (Jane) Burton, two daughters, Sue Reed and Marcia Wooton (Jeff), all of Nicholasville. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Steven (Angie) Burton, Shaun Muncy, Erica Said (Darren), Kaitlyn Wooton, Bobby (Missy) Watts and Amy (Doug) Boone; nine great grandchildren, Will and Molly Muncy, Amber Said, Samantha Henson, Taylor, Brooke and Hayden Watts and Mitch and Megan Boone. Also surviving, one brother, Gordon (Brenda) Cobb and three sisters, Louise Hasselbring, Phyllis (Ray) Bradshaw, Linda (Doug) Downing, one sister-in-law, Charlene Cobb and numerous other family members. She was proceeded in death by a granddaughter, Nicole Carter Wooton, a brother, Stewart Cobb, a brother-in-law, Rae Hasselbring and two sisters-in-law, Bessie Cobb and Minnie Cobb. Loretta was not only a farmer's wife, but worked many years in the Jessamine County School System as a Cafeteria Manager where she touched the lives of hundreds of children on a daily basis. Her giving and loving spirit will be shared at Visitation on Sunday, 2:00-7:00pm with a celebration of her beautiful life on Monday at 11:00am followed by Interment at Maple Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Burton, Bobby Watts, Will Muncy, Gordon Cobb, Ray Bradshaw, and Doug Downing. Honorary Pallbearers will be Shaun Muncy, Erica Said, Kaitlyn Wooton, Angie Burton, Bill Jacobs, Darren Henson, Molly Muncy, Amber Said and Samantha Henson. Arrangements are under the Careful Direction of Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home.
