Lucille Freeman Canter, 89, mother of Scott Canter, mother-in-law to Erika Canter, and grandmother to Erik and William Canter entered into eternal rest on Monday, Sept 9, at St. Joseph Hospice Care. She was a native of Jessamine County born Sept. 10, 1923 to the late Charles and Lucy Freeman. Lucille was one of ten children who have all preceded her in death. She was a member of Nicholasville Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years, a member of the Hare Sunday School Class and a graduate of Nicholasville High School. Her favorite hobbies were gardening, crocheting, and taking care of her two grandsons who were the light of her life. A Service of Remembrance will be held 1:00 PM Friday, Sept. 13, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home, she will be laid to rest in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Erik Canter, William T. Canter, Tommy Wells, Zack Wells, B J Penland, and James L. Farley.
