Nicholasville: Lucy Hunter Jackson, 57, of Logana Pike died Sunday, Oct. 25, at the University of Kentucky Hospital. A native of Jessamine County she was born July 23, 1952, to the late J.W. ‘Dub’ and Hester Hunter. She was a member of Bethany Christian Church, Trial Pleasure Saddle Club, Lancaster, former member of the Jessamine County Saddle Club, and Hanley Homemakers. Lucy’s love of animal especially horses led her to her jobs at McCaw Vet Clinic where she was employed for 15 years and most recently at Taylor Made Farms as a receptionist. Survivors include her husband of 39 years Jesse W. Jackson, a son Bryan Jackson, a daughter Jenny Wiley, husband David, a sister Becky Garrett, husband David, cousin Debbie Lovitt, husband Jerry, sisters in law Nancy Figg, husband Glen, and Judy Tatum. She was preceded in death by a nephew Jody Garrett.
Services will be 1:00 PM Wed., Oct. 28, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Harrison and Rev. Bill Bales officiating, burial in Maple Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dwight Willis, Rodney Moss, Mike Hunter, Billy Fount House, John Hall, Jamie Ballard, Taylor Bourne, and Jimmy Bowman. Honorary bearers will be John Teater,Jimmy Peel, David Hammond, Susan Ballard, Duncan Taylor, Ben Taylor, Cecil ‘June’ Humphrey, Leo Garrett, George Brumfield, Steve Gayhart, Bobby Johnson, Victor Murphy, Mickey Stinnett and all of her riding buddies. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 PM Tues. Oct. 27, at the funeral home. Donations may be made to one’s favorite charity.
