Lyde Hughes Simpson, 93, formerly of Weil Lane, Nicholasville, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 at St. Joseph Hospice Care Center. She was a native of Jessamine County born July 8, 1921, to the late Paul G. and Mary Hughes Simpson. Lyde retired from Teater Farm Service where she worked as an office manager for 10 years. She also had been an employee of Rick & Wilde Insurance Co. as well as Jessamine Building, Savings, and Loan. She as a life long member of the Nicholasville Presbyterian Church and a vital part of the Jessamine County Historical Society. It has been said that she was quiet person who helped others in a still and quiet manner. She is survived by a niece Dana Killen of Texas as well as many friends and was preceded in death by 3 brothers William Dudley, James Lesley, and Paul Welch Simpson. A Service of Remembrance will be held 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, Oct. 8, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with a gathering of friends from 10:00 AM until time of service. She will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery. Contributions may be made in her memory to your favorite charity.
