Marietta Pendleton Wells, 98, left her earthly home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014. She was the widow of Harold G. Wells who passed away in 1969. A native of Clark County, KY she was the daughter of the late Lillian Karrick Pendleton Harp and Asa Pendleton and step-daughter of B. F. Harp, Sr.. She was a loving and dedicated mother and homemaker, a retired employee of the University of Kentucky Mail Center, and member of Edgewood Baptist Church. She leaves to cherish her memories with 4 sons Ray, wife Jan, Jimmy, wife Ruthie, David, wife Pat, and Charles wife Gail, a daughter Barbara Dixon, husband Charles, grandchildren Scott Wells, wife Julie, Laura Fannin, Chris Wells, wife Julie, Melanie Ladd, husband Burt, Craig Wells, wife Carla, Lisa French, husband Keith, Ashley Cissell, husband Jason, Jason Wells, and Shannon Wells, great grandchildren Grant Wells, Ryan Neff, Katie Neff, Lindsey Fannin, Riley Wells, Camryn Wells, Kyle Adams, and Truman Cissel, a sister Jean Belle Bryant, brother Ben Harp, Jr., wife Jeannette, sister-in-law Grace Harp, as well as numerous nephews and nieces which includes a special niece Linda Brumfield. She was preceded in death by granddaughters Allison Wells and Sherri Dixon, step granddaughter Christy Hilderbrand, 2 brothers James C. and Robert Harp, and sister Lydia Brumfield. A Service of Remembrance will be held 1:00 PM on Monday, Dec. 29, at Edgewood Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Sholar officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Maple Grove Cemetery. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Scott, Chris, Craig, and Grant Wells, Ryan Neff, and Charles Dixon. Honorary Bearers will be grandchildren and wives of her grandchildren. The family will greet friends from 1 to 5 PM on Sunday, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home and from 12:00 Noon until time of service at the Church. Flowers are welcome but the family suggest donations be made in her honor to Edgewood Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 717 S. Main St., Nicholasville, KY 40356.
