Marilyn ‘Mickey’ House Criner Pope, 69, died Sat. Oct. 22, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. A native of Jessamine County she was born Oct. 6, 1942, to the late William Fountain and Mary E. Teater House. She was an Registered Nurse working with Hospice of the Bluegrass in administration and the loving wife of Miles H. Pope. Mickey graduated from the UK Nursing school, was an employee of the Good Samaritan Hospital for 20 years, and a volunteer for the Lexington Humane Society due to her love for animals especially dogs. Her hobbies included family, traveling, snow skiing and most recently golf. In addition to her husband she is survived by a son Andrew P. Criner, wife Jane, Paducah, brother Billy Fount House, Sandy Hammons, a sister Mildred Don Tracy, 2 granddaughters Kate and Caroline Criner and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death in 1980 by John C. Criner, Jr. her first husband and father of her son.

Service will be 1:00 PM Tues. Oct. 25, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home, burial in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Charles Logan Miller, Steve and Tal House, Barrett Agee, Billy R. Teater, and James Black. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Mon. Oct. 24, at the funeral home.
