Martha Ann Montgomery

October, 17, 1918 - December, 17, 2006

Martha Ann Teater Montgomery passed to her eternal reward December 17, 2006. She wishes her life to be remembered as a caring and compassionate family person. She was a dedicated Kentucky Wildcat Fan and loved attending the games. Born October 17, 1918, she was the eldest of three daughters of Fred and Louvenia Canter Teater. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Montgomery who died in 1994, a sister, Lorene Teater, and a brother-in-law, Russell M. Hamm. She is survived by a sister, Velma T. Hamm of Jessamine County, a nephew, Kenney W. Hamm and wife Linda of Jessamine County, two great nephews, Michael T. Hamm and wife Kelly of Kettering, Ohio, and Jared R. Hamm and wife Suzanne of Jessamine County, a niece, Lauren E. Hamm of Charleston, SC, and a great nephew, Matthias T. Hamm of Kettering, OH. Martha was a member of Little Hickman Christian Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She worked as a receptionist, bookkeeper, and assistant for Dr. C. Edward Rankin for 21 years, retiring in 1988. She also worked for the late Drs. J.S. Williams and B.T. Harris. Services will be held 3:30 PM, Wednesday, December 20th at HAGER AND CUNDIFF FUNERAL HOME, visitation 1pm until time of service. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randy East, Mike Bishop, Tom Welch, Russell Teater, Michael Hamm, and Jared Hamm. Honorary Pallbearers will be A.G. Canter, Sterling Canter, Herb Penrod, Robert Suell, Don Riddle, Dr. William T. Maxson, David Phelps, Dr. C. Edward Rankin, Howard Downing, and Dr. Hugh Hinkle. ‘I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but onto all them also that love his appearing.’ (2 Timothy 4: 7-8) Contributions made be made in her memory to Little Hickman Christian Church or to ones favorite charity.
