He was proceeded in death by his parents, Guy & Millie (Pinson), brothers Lewis, Kidd and Russell, and his beloved wife of 67 years Mary Elizabeth (Webb). He is survived by his daughters Pamala (Michael) Kovera and RoseMary (Brian) Nowitzki. Grandchildren: Daniel (Jennifer) Kovera, Craig Kovera, Tamra Nowitzki and Megan Nowitzki. Marvin grew up a farmer in West Tennessee and took that into his twenties. After serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, he purchased his in-laws’ farm and worked it until moving his family to northwest Indiana. He was a life-long member of the VFW. Marvin worked for Ford as a member of the UAW for 30 years. Retiring with Mary at the age of 56, they were avid travelers, crossing the country and making many trips to Florida. After Mary’s passing in 2017, Marvin moved to Wilmore, Kentucky to live out his remaining years. He spent more afternoons on his front porch than not, visiting with anyone and everyone who came by. A lifetime follower of Christ, he was an active member of the Bible Baptist Church in Griffith, Indiana. Upon moving to Wilmore, Kentucky he worshipped at Wilmore Free Methodist Church, where his family will hold a Remembrance Service for him Monday, August 9, 2021 at 7:00 PM.  They will greet friends at the church beginning at 6:00 PM.  On Thursday, August 12, 2021, Marvin’s family will greet friends from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM CDT at White Funeral Home in Griffith, IN, following which Marvin will be laid to rest in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point, IN at 12:00 PM CDT.  Hager & Cundiff values nothing more than the trust and loyalty of the Quinn and Nowitzki families.  This obituary was lovingly submitted by Marvin’s family.
