Mary L. Barnes, 73, of Fuzzy Duck Rd., Lancaster, died Tues., July 18, at the St. Joseph Hospice Care Center. She was born Nov 7, 1932,to the late Luther and Bertha Young Hager. Mary had been an employee of Lazarus for 17 years in the gift wrap department and a member of the Church of God, Nicholasville. Survivors include her husband of 56 years James W. "Jr." Barnes, Jr., her children Charles Leo Barnes and wife Betty, Lancaster, Mary Katherine Cuzick, and husband Steve, Nicholasville, Doris Jean McGuaghey and husband Larry, Taylorsville, and Nancy Ellen Paul, and husband John, Nicholasville, 4 sisters Molly Cook, and husband Gene, Lexington, Lillian Roland and husband Cleve, Nicholasville, Lida May Williams, Nicholasville, and Elizabeth Clouse, Versailles, 3 brothers Billy Hager and wife Frances, Georgetown, Virgil Hall, Stanford, and Chester Hager and wife Peggy, Georgetown, 10 Grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter Brenda Kay Barnes, 2 sons James Clayton and Gregory Barnes, brothers Roland Hager and Clayton Hall, sisters Margaret Wilkerson, Ann Hager and Jane Cheek.

Services will be 1:00 PM Fri., July 21, with Rev. John Keyton and Rev. Jim Marshall officiating, burial in Maple Grove Cemetery. Family members will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
