Mary Katherine Prather, 96, died Sunday, Aug. 7, at St. Joseph Hospice Care Center. A Remembrance Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, Aug. 9, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Harrison officiating. Private graveside services will be on Wednesday, Aug. 10. The family will receive friends from 4 to time of service on Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Mary Katherine was a native of Woodford County, bron March 20, 1915, to the late Jessie and Cora Deeringer Curd. She was the widow of Frank Corman and Tom Prather, a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, and had been a clerk for many years at Martin’s Dept. Store, Nicholasville and Sleepyhead House, Lexington. Survivors include a daughter and her husband Frazier and Mitzie Duncan, grandchildren FrazerAnn Milburn, husband Joy, Fray Duncan, Betty Ann Boh, and numerous other grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews, a daughter in law Lois Reed, sister Jeannette Montgomery, and brother Billy Curd. She was preceded in death by a son Roland Reed, grandson Larry Reed, Step Mother Virgie Curd, brothers Roland, Turley, and Robert Curd, and sister Edith Bogie. Donations in her honor may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass and the family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice for the care that was given to Mary Katherine.
