Nicholasville: Mary Elizabeth Scott Smith, 72, died Fri., March 9, at the Baptist N.E. Hospice Unit in LaGrange, Ky. She was a native of Jessamine County born August 30, 1934, to the late Daniel and Grace Stinnett Scott. She was a member of the Tates Creek Christian Church, the Willing Workers Bible Class and had been attending the Southeast Christian Church in Louisville. She is the widow of Gary R. Smith who died in 2004. Survivors include her daughter Tracey Roach and husband Terry, Louisville, a daughter in law Mary Smith Lexington, a brother Ray Scott and wife Geneva, a sister Helen Rankin, both of Lexington, and 3 grandchildren Emily and Sam Roach, Louisville and Shannon Smith, Lexington. She was preceded in death by a son Mark K. Smith in 2000 and a brother Roy W. Scott.

Services will be held 12:00 noon on Mon., March 12, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Walden and Rev. Barry Clark officiating, burial Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Syd Eline, Danny Branham, Andy Jones, John Marston, Kenny Watkins, and Tim Caine. Honorary bearers will be Bennie Hager, Frank Brumlow, Bill Beach, Dickie Hager, Alan Wells, Alex Hall, and Bob Mathews. Visitation will be on Sun., March 11 from 1 PM to 6 PM at the funeral home.
