Matthew Earl May, 17, left his earthly home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Matthew was a native of Lexington born July 20, 1998 to Casey Lee Noel Thornberry and Matthew Alan May. Matthew was a former student of East Jessamine High School and before his illness loved skateboarding, riding his bike, and playing basketball, but in recent years became a gaming expert testing games that had not been released and helping work out issues that appeared. He also loved to listen to music and use his computer. He was a courageous person in his battle with cancer and was always putting others before himself. In addition to his Mother Casey and her friend Stephen Rike who also helped in caring for Matthew and his Father Matt May and wife Stacy, Matthew leaves his memories with a maternal grandmother Rose Sizemore, paternal grandparents Terry and Rose Tallman, brothers Cody, Tyler, and Austin May, Hunter Lee and Gage Wayne Thornberry and sister Emily Catherine Noel Thornberry, aunts Kristie Darnell and Amanda Adkins, uncles Greg May and Frank Tallman, as well as numerous cousins and many other extended family and friends. His family invites you to honor him at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Homw to visit with them from 3:00 PM until the time of his Remembrance Service at 7:00 PM on Friday, Nov. 6.
