Mildred M. Chiari, a native of Chicago, Illinois, was born Feb. 5, 1919, to the late Frank and Mary Chlopecki Szarek and was one of 6 children, 5 of whom have preceded her in death. She was one of Jehovah's Witness, loved to read, crochet and attend lunch with the ladies.  She and her sister Vera lived together when both of them became widows.  They were not only sisters but best friends, who loved to travel, shop and eat together. In their shopping sprees it was not unusual for them to purchase identical items just in different colors, Mildred choosing purple and Vera green, which was the color of their birthstones.  Eating out was an experience because in picking from a menu, they would always wait until one would choose, then the other would say, "I’ll have that too”.  When Vera passed away, Mildred continue to take Vera everywhere since she chose cremation.  Mildred left her in the car so she would always be with her.  Mildred helped her husband in his business, which gave her time to be a devoted wife and mother to their only daughter Gail J. Williams. In addition to her daughter, she leaves to cherish her memory son-in-law Michael Williams and granddaughter Jnana L. Rieger, husband Mark, and several nieces and nephews. According to her wishes the family chose cremation with a service to be held at the Nicholasville Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 3:00 PM.
