Mildred Brumfield Walker
Mildred Brumfield Walker, 94, widow of Otha Walker, joined him in eternal rest on Sunday, Oct. 6, at Royal Manor Nursing Home. Mildred was a native of Jessamine County, born Sept. 9, 1919, to the late Buford B. and Sara Sanders Brumfield. She was a dedicated member of Providence Christian Church and a member of the CWF, a loving Mother to sons Lee Walker, and Bert Walker, wife Flo, daughters Annetta Gayle Harney, husband Mike, Jackie Bellman, husband Bob, and Sarah Walker,and a loving grandmother to Amy Whitaker, Carol Ann Whitaker, Jolee Walker, Henry Walker, Morgan Walker, Mike Walker, Floyd Walker, Hannah Walker, Lovie Walker, Mildred Ann Walker, Denia Tackett, Major Kenneth Harney, Jennifer Robbins, and Rebecca Johns, great grandmother to 22 great grandchildren, and great-great grandmother to 5 great-great grandchildren. Additional survivors include sisters Susie Parsons, Meredith Owens, Ann Glass, and Neva Jean Allison, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters Lovie Craig, Ruby Hager, and Carmen Shawler and brothers Moss Brumfield, Oakle Brumfield, Merritt Brumfield, and Walter Brumfield. A Service of Remembrance will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, Oct. 10, at Providence Christian Church and she will be laid to rest beside her husband in Maple Grove Cemetery. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Mike Walker, Floyd Walker, Henry Walker, Morgan Walker, Evan Whitaker, Major Kenneth Harney, David Robbins, Andy Johns, LTC Craig Tackett, and Carl Ray Waits. Honorary bearers will be Milly Browning, Harold Waits, Dale Cotton, Ben Sanders, Charley Tackett, Ron Cundiff, Jimmy Brumfield, Bob Cotton, and Ron Cobb.
