Nathan Brent Sandefur

Nathan Brent Sandefur of Wilmore, KY departed this life much too soon on Friday, February 23, 2018. He was 42 years old.

Nathan was born on July 12, 1975 and grew up in the Eastern Kentucky town of Salyersville.  As a boy he loved playing and exploring the hillside across from his home, with his dogs. He would spend his days with boyhood friends riding bikes, swimming in the pond, and shooting BB guns. Nathan moved to Somerset, Kentucky and graduated from Pulaski County High School in 1993. He was an active member of the Jr. ROTC program during his high school years. Nathan did attend Southern Wesleyan University for a semester before choosing to pursue a career in the electrical field. Nathan worked for several electrical companies, the most notable one being Rinehart Electric in Lexington, KY.

Nathan was the proud father of Jonathan Brent Sandefur and Samuel Joseph Simms. He loved his boys and was so pleased with the young men they had become. Nathan was the beloved son of Rev. Stephen and Gaye Sandefur. He was the loving brother of Bradley (Michelle Harper) Sandefur, Annette (Nick) Minix and Gretchen (Philip) Stidom. Nathan was the fun-loving uncle of Dustin (Katie) Howard, Kylie (Eric) Arnett, Gavin Sandefur, Chloe Minix, Isabella Davis, Cole Stidom, and Lane Stidom. He the was warm-hearted great uncle of Peyton Howard and Erin Arnett. Nathan was also the nephew, cousin, and friend to numerous others, all of whom will miss his gracious spirit.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 starting at 4PM and ending at 8PM. A Remembrance  Service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home.

In Lieu of flowers the family has suggested donations to the New Life Community Church, 3353 Clays Mill Rd., Lexington, KY 40503 which held a special place in Nathan's heart.  This obituary was submitted by Nathan’s family who held great love for him.  Hager & Cundiff is proud to serve the Sandefur family
