Nelson Ray “Bullett” Peel, Sr., 77, a native of Jessamine County born July 10, 1940, to the late Everett Harrison and Edna Mae Walker Peel left his earthly home on Wednesday, June 14. Bullett was the rock of his family, and the deep love they have for this father, grandfather, and brother, the harder the grief. Bullett was a lifelong farmer and a star football player in Jessamine County and played one year for the University of Kentucky. He leaves his memories with his only daughter Katherine Marie Pierce, and sons Nelson Ray “Buster” Peel, Jr., wife Rebecca Lynn, Nelson Wayne “Whoppy” Peel, and Jason Lee Peel, Michelle Pearson, brothers William Franklin “Tubby” Peel and James Lewis Peel, wife Darlene, 16 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. His Remembrance Service will be 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 21, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery. Honoring him as pallbearers willl be Nelson "Buster" Ray Peel, Jr., James Edward Peel, Eric Tyler Dunn, Jeremy Morgan Dunn, Steven Maggard, Franklin Peel, Jr. and Jason Peel. His family will receive friends begining at 4:00 PM and ending at 8:00 PM on Tuesday June 20, Donation may be made to Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
