Norma McIntyre Canter

Nicholasville: Norma L. McIntyre Canter, 77, entered into eternal rest on Monday, Sept. 1, at St. Joseph Hospital. A native of Pulaski County she was born May 4, 1937, to the late Roy and Allene Swallows. Norma was the widow of William Denton McIntyre who died in 1964 and Sterling Canter who died 2011. She had worked many years for Care Tenders, Irvin Industries, and later she cared for many others in our community including her own family members. She was a member of the Nicholasville Church of Christ. She leaves her memories with sons Bill McIntyre, wife Anita and Bobby McIntyre, grandchildren Adam Lee McIntyre, wife Sherri, William Brian McIntyre, wife Melissa, Bradley McIntyre, wife Ashley, Jacob Dale McIntyre, and Morgan Rene` McIntyre, 8 great grandchildren, and a sister-in-law Joan Swallows. She was preceded in death by a brother Roger Swallows. A Service of Remembrance will be held 11:00 AM Friday, Sept. 5, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest with her husband Sterling in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Honoring her as pallbearers will be her grandsons, granddaughter, Mike Gill, and David Maggard. Honorary bearers will be Ernie Bain, Shirley Smith, Norman Jennings, and Adam Brumfield. Her family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM Thursday, at the funeral home.
