Oadis Dee Henson, Sr., age 68, husband of Matilda for 37 years, died Monday, Jan. 27, at his home after an extended illness. He was a native of Lexington born March 30, 1935, to the late Frank and Viola Henson. He was a self employed construction worker who loved working with wood and building. In addition to Matilda he leaves to cherish his memory sons Odis Henson, Jr., Dale Henson, and Robert Wain Henson, step children Connie Edmundson, Van Patrick Edmundson, wife Michelle, and William Edmundson, wife Angela, grandchildren Stephanie, Dennis, Brittany, Cory, Chaz, Austin, Brianna, Jordan, and Tory Henson, Rachael Pennington, Jessica Blevins, Jennifer McClain, Brandon McClain, Amanda Eldridge, Tyler and Cameron Edmundson, 9 great grandchildren and 3 expected great-great grandchildren, sisters Betty Adams Vicie Rudolph, husband Orville, Ola Weels, Sunday Hughes, husband Mike, and brothers John Henson. He was preceded in death by brothers Robert and Gary and sister Jenny Welch. There will be a private viewing and Remembrance Ceremony.
