Odis Dee Henson Jr., 55 born May 4,1968, passed away Jan. 1,2024. Odis was a native of Jessamine County, born to the late Odis Dee Henson Sr. and Lillian Howard. Odis' famous quote about himself was "he was the greatest Hell his moma ever raised." He tried to live out every country song Hank Sr. and Hank Jr. ever sang during his lifetime. Odis was an excellent carpenter and woodworker; he helped his father build many houses here in Jessamine County in the 80's and 90's. He proudly obtained his GED in 2011. He loved to party with his friends but had a hard time letting go of his past. To those of us who truly know him, knew his heart and how his kids and grandkids could melt it, he will be terribly missed and forever loved. Odis is survived by his 3 children and their mothers. Torey Renner (Rachel)- Glasgow, KY, his mother Lissette Gambrel and Brittany Blair and Taylor Henson, both of Nicholasville, KY, their mother, Kathy Selby-Henson; 5 grandchildren: Clayton Renner, Tyler Evans, Malakhi Evans, Xavien Johnson, and Kyza Johnson; and 2 Brothers: Novey Howard (Loretta), Nicholasville, Ky., and Robert Wayne Henson (Maxine) Hazard, Ky. He had fond memories of his Aunts and Uncles and cousins and truly loved his nieces, nephews and friends. Odis is preceded in death by his brother Richard O'Dale Henson and Life Partner Malinda Smith. A small private family viewing was held at Hager and Cundiff Funeral Home on January 4, 2024.
