Owen Gerald (Jerry) Abshear

June, 30, 1936 - May, 20, 2013

Jerry Abshear, died Monday, May 20, at Baptist Health Care. He was the loving husband of Sandra Abshear for 26 years and devoted father to Stephen Abshear, Ashley Mae Abshear, Jerrye Absher Huber and Karen Abshear Cronen.

Additional survivors include 3 grandchildren Ali Abshear, Alec Huber, and Eric Selby, brothers Paul Abshear, Mickey Abshear, wife Debbie, sisters Carolyn Boggs, husband Bruce, Linda Sewell, husband Dwight, and Beverly Janes, husband Don, mother-in-law Anna Chavez and father-in-law Porfirio Granados.

He was preceded in death by a brother Gary Joe Abashear and a sister-in-law Nelva Abshear. Jerry was a native of Jessamine County born June 30, 1936, to the late Moss and Lucy Abshear.

He was a self employed electrician and was passionate about fishing. There will be a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 24, at St. Luke Catholic Church. Cremation was under the careful direction of Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. Guestbook www.hagerandcundifffunerals.com
