Paul Welch Watts

Paul Welch Watts, 88, was born March 20, 1926 in the Hanly community of Jessamine County. He was the son of the late Batie Welch and Tulia Brumfield Watts. Survivors include nephews Charles Ray Watts, wife Mae, Douglas Lynn Watts, wife Anne, Lester Welch Watts, and William Anthony Watts all of Jessamine County. He was preceded in death by a sister Edna Opal Watts, brother Welburn Jasper Watts, and nephew Morris Wayne Watts. Paul was a member of the Roberts Chapel United Methodist Church where he served as treasurer for many years and Youth Leader for at least 20 years. He was a retired employee of the Nicholasville Post Office, former House Parent for Stewart's Home School for the mentally challenged located in Frankfort, and a Genealogist having compiled 11 family history books. He dearly loved gospel music and flowers. Visitation will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday at Roberts Chapel United Methodist Church with the Service to follow at 1:00 PM with Rev. John Gillespie officiating. He will be laid to rest with his family in Maple Grove Cemetery. Paul chose Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home for arrangement of his final wishes.
