Pauline (Shanks) Preston

December 4, 1935 — September 17, 2023

Pauline Preston, 87, widow of Don L. Preston since 1994, joined him in eternal rest on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2023, at the home of her son Jim.  She was a native of Jessamine County born Dec. 4, 1935, to the late Ophelia and Flossie Mae Gullette Shanks.  Pauline was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church and was a talented artist who enjoyed painting on canvas.  She was well known as Granny by all who knew her. She is survived by her son Jim Preston, grandchildren Alesha Jackson-husband David, John Keith Preston-wife Amber, Nikki Beaudet, husband Steven, and Conley Morrow, who were the light of her life, along with her 7 great-grandchildren.  She leaves her childhood memories with brothers Homer Shanks, wife Renate, T. J. Shanks, wife Linda and sister-in-law Marie, widow of Nelson Shanks.  She will never be forgotten by her many friends and extended family members.  She was preceded in death by her son Lorin Keith Preston, her twin brother Eugene Shanks, her brother Nelson Shanks.  A Remembrance Service will be held 1:00 PM on Thursday, Sept 21, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 AM util time of Service at 1:00 PM on Thursday.

“The most important thing even when we’re apart . . . I’ll always be with you.”  Hager & Cundiff values nothing more than the trust given to us to care for Pauline by her family.
