Peggy Lee (Sams) Perkins

Peggy Lee Perkins, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, entered her heavenly home on Saturday, June 10, 2023.  Peggy was born February 13, 1952 in Lexington, KY to the late Lewis Gene and Linda Lowry Sams.  She was a devoted homemaker, always providing a warm and welcoming home for her family, and she had a special place in her heart for her dog Oreo.  Peggy found joy in her housework, and in her spare time she like to fish and work crossword and jigsaw puzzles.  She had attended Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in earlier years.  Peggy leaves precious memories with her children Thomas Gene Linville, Sharon Kay Stidham, and Nancy Bain; her grandchildren Hannah Linville, Taylor Stidham, Justin Stidham, Michael Bain, Joseph Bain, Alexis Linville, Jayden Linville, Mya Linville, and Jeremiah Linville; her brother Bobby Sams, wife Diane, sisters Betty Louise Miracle and Cheryl Vickery, husband Charlie; and a host of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.  Besides her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her brother Jackie Arthur Sams.  A Funeral Remembrance Service will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, June 15 at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home, following which Peggy will be laid to rest in the Keene Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Lee Bain, Michael Andrew Bain, Joseph Lloyd Bain, Louis Hobbs, Ashley Downs, and Houston Bona. Her family will greet friends beginning at 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday, June 14 at the funeral home.  “You’ll never forget your mother’s face, the sound of her voice, the stories she told, the lessons she taught . . . .
