Nicholasville: Philip Lee ‘Phil’ Thornberry, 40, died Sun. Oct. 15. Born May 15, 1966 and was a native of Fayette County. He is survived by his mother, Frances Lee Wyatt Sturgeon, maternal grandparents, Alvin & Josephine Royalty, 2 sisters, Karen Lee Hamilton and husband, Delmer, Stephanie Lee Murrell and husband, Daniel, both of OK, and 1 brother, Frederick Lee Thornberry and wife, Samantha of Clay City, KY, 8 nieces and nephews, David Thornberry, Dean Gaunce, Trae Soper, Brian Thornberry, Brandon Thornberry, Leeann Thornberry, Justin Thornberry, Chase Haberland, several great nieces and nephews, and friend, Bill Walton. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Marion and Elizabeth Thornberry.
