Phyllis Gayle Crowe, 68, widow of Hollis Crowe since June of 2017, left her earthly home on Monday, Feb. 12, 2018.  A native of Nicholasville she was born June 12, 1949, to the late Claude and Nancy Evelyn Renfro Smith.  We are all here for a reason, and Phyllis determined early on she was here to be a Mother and provide a good home for her children Hollis Ray Smith and Les Smith, wife Angela.  She was a source of love and created a ripple around her with the love she gave to others.  Those ripples surrounded her grandchildren Shannon Smith, Brandon Smith, wife Maggie, James Smith, Jessica Smith Peel, husband Nathan, Ashley Smith, Kimberly Denise Smith, and Hollis Smith, as well as her 6 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  She was one of 5 children, two of whom have preceded her in death, a sister Bonnie McLean and brother Barry Smith, leaving to survive her a brother William A. High, wife Virginia and sister Sandra McLean.  Knowing that Phyllis loved her home, you would understand she would have a passion for refinishing furniture.  Her favorite music included Country Music, the old style, and gospel.  She also a a warm spot in her heart for her dogs Bear, a Yorkie, and JB/Beaver, a Chihuahua.  A Remembrance Service will be held 1:00 PM on Thursday, Feb. 15, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home.  She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in Maple Grove Cemetery.  Honoring her as pallbearers will be William and Sammy McLean, Mark, Brandon, James, and Hollis Smith.  Honorary bearers will be José, Romero, Austin, and José Alfredo “PePe” McClean, Cody Oney, and Barry Nott.  The family will greet friends Wednesday, Feb. 14, starting at 4:00 PM and ending at 8:00PM at the funeral home.  Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home is proud to serve the Crowe family.
