Phyllis JoAnn Dupree

Phyllis JoAnn McClure Dupree, 82, of Nicholasville, KY went to be with our Lord on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Sayre Christian Village. She was born in Saginaw, MI on July 18, 1931. JoAnn is survived by her husband Charles " Chuck" Dupree, children Elisabeth "Beth" Dupree Frcka, husband Sebastian of Wheaton, IL, David C Dupree, wife Kristi, of Lawrenceburg, KY, J. Mark Dupree, wife Linda, of Sycamore, IL, Paul Dupree of Wilmore, KY, and Stephen Dupree, wife Beth of Wilmore, KY, eleven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. JoAnn was active in Ames United Methodist Church and a graduate of Asbury College class of 1954. She and her husband were missionaries to Japan for 41 years with One Mission Society (Oriental Mission Society, OMS International). She was active in teaching cooking in the churches helping them contact the people in their communities. She published a cookbook in Japanese: AMERICAN HOME COOKING. Since retirement she has been an active member of Christ UMC, Indianapolis, IN, Christ UMC, Lexington, KY, and Nicholasville UMC, Nicholasville, KY. Her Service of Remembrance will be 1:00 PM March 22, at the Nicholasville United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 21, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home from 4 to 8 PM and at the Church on Saturday from 12:00 noon until time of Service. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made in her memory to: One Mission Society-Tokyo Biblical Seminary, Asbury University, Asbury Theological Seminary, or Nicholasville United Methodist Church Missions Program.
