Nicholasville: Ray Gayheart, 67, of Edgewood Drive, died unexpectedly Thurs., Jan. 3. A native of Jessamine County he was born June 16, 1940 to Mary Alice Crowe Gayheart and the late W. C. Gayheart. He was a retired employee of A B Dick and a veteran of the U.S. Army. A man who loved fishing and hunting he was a former member of the Bluegrass Sportsman League and the Hart Lodge F & AM # 61. In addition to his Mother he is survived by 3 sisters Patricia Long, husband Harold, Caroline Willhoite, husband Jimmy, and Lois Wright, 5 brothers Steve Gayheart, wife Margaret, David Gayheart, wife May, Mike Gayheart, Kenny Gayheart, wife Tina, and Roger Gayheart, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be 1:30 PM Mon, Jan. 7, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Bales officiating, burial in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Gayheart, Todd Gayheart, Chris Gayheart, J. D. Crowe, Greg Long, and Brad Hettinger. Honorary bearers will be his special friends Harrison McMillen, Denver Shuman, Bill Hinkle, Joe Peel, Hugh Hinkle, Gene Walker, Jimmy Peel, Walter Bradshaw, and Buddy Teater.
