Rev. Joe B Masters

Rev. Joe Burton Masters, 83, of La Grange, NC entered into Heaven on Sunday, October 30, 2011. Rev. Masters was born December 11, 1927, in Madison County, Kentucky to the late John Milton Masters and Zoba Betty Lackey Masters. Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife of fifty eight years, Dorothy Breaden Masters. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired in 1993 from church ministry following thirty eights years of service. Twenty eight of those years, Joe pastored Bernie Alliance Church in Bernie, MO. A talented craftsman and handyman, Joe enjoyed playing the fiddle, bluegrass music, nature and bird watching. A service honoring him will be held Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home, burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.

Rev. Masters is survived by two children, Charles Clifford Masters and wife, Kathi of Colorado Springs, CO, and Kathleen Sue Kennedy and husband, Mark of La Grange; brother, Clayton Masters of London, KY; two sisters, Lois Cobb of Nicholasville, KY and Sula Masters of Lexington, KY; five grandchildren, Dacia Masters, Dana Masters Chippindale, John Mark Kennedy, Joseph Kennedy and Sara Kennedy Hall; eleven great-grandchildren.
