A limb as fallen from the Kinney family tree. Richard S. “Dick” Kinney, 79, loving husband for 58 years of Mary, left his earthly home on Tuesday, Oct. 24. He was a native of Arkansas born Nov. 21, 1937, to the late Jim Brice and Ida Pearl Culver Kinney. Richard was retired employee of Pitney Bowes where he was an electronic engineer and a veteran of the US Army. He was a talented man who had a green thumb and loved to garden raising vegetables or flowers or just whatever could be planted. He and Mary liked to bowl together at the local bowling alley, and he was always tinkering with something in his building that he created from a outdoor swimming pool that was no longer useful. He was known in his family as the “Kinney Encyclopedia” who had a good answer to many questions and was also the one who liked to read books and write them. He leaves his legacy with his children Richard Bryan Kinney, David Lewis Kinney, wife Myna, Cynthia Renee Orso, husband Calvin, and Kenneth Sterling Kinney wife Selena, his 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. His sister Brenda Gail Kinney and Linda Sue Burch as well as his numerous nieces and nephews will cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by brothers George David Kinney and Jim Brice Kinney. A Remembrance Memorial I will be at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, Oct. 31 with the family greeting friend starting at 5:00 PM. Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home is proud to honor this husband, father, grandfather, and US Army veteran.
