Richard Alan (Dick) Krahulek

December, 14, 1941 - April, 19, 2013

Richard Alan "Dick" Krahulek, 71, loving and devoted husband for 49 years to Ruth, died Friday, April 19, at his home in Garrard County surrounded by his family.

He was a native of McKee Rock, PA born Dec. 14, 1941, to the late Joseph and Marguriete Krahulek. He came to Kentucky at the age of 12 when his parents were transferred to Harrrodsburg with Corning Glass.

Dick graduated from Burgin High School and attended Eastern Kentucky University and soon became an employee of IBM from which he retired. He was an avid Big Blue Fan and watched most games with his friends at his home at Lake Herrington. He also loved to fish and do carpentry work.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a son Alan Krahulek, Kathy Elsess of Ohio and daughter Dawn Krahulek, of Kentucky, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son Paul David Lakes, brother Robert Krahulek and sister Mona Jean Luce.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, April 27, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. His family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.

Flowers are welcomed but the family suggest donations be made in his memory to Heritage Hospice, Danville.
