Richard Allen Wells

Richard Allen Wells, Sr., 70, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at his home. He was a native of Woodford County born Jan. 20, 1941, to the late Eugene F. and Virginia Mae Bottoms Wells. Richard was in the first graduating class of Jessamine County High School, a retired employee of Delta Natural Gas having worked there for 40 years, and a member of Wilmore Christian Church. Survivors include his wife Carolyn Johns Worthington Wells, a son Rick Wells, Kristin Wells, a daughter Chari Reynolds, husband Steve, step daughter Robin McClure, husband Mark, grandchildren Doug and Mike Reynolds, and Jake and Jeb Wells, step grandchildren Michelle and Anthony Pyle, brother in law Bradley Johns, wife Donna, nieces Sandy Ferguson and Kelly Mulcahy and nephew John Benedict. He was preceded in death by his sister Wilma Jean Benedict and in 2006 by his first wife Joyce Wells.

A service commemorating his life will be held Friday,2:00 PM Dec. 16th at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Nathan Elliott and Rev Johnny Davis officiating. He will be laid to rest in Wilmore Cemetery. Honoring him as pallbearers will be Steve Reynolds, Douglas Reynolds, Mike Reynolds, Bradley Johns, Rick Wells, Jake and Jeb Wells, Marty Grossman, and Anthony Pyle. Honorary bearers will be Lawerence Riley, Bill Gardner, Barry and Steve Ogden, David Hogue, Brad Bowman, John Benedict, Jan Houp, Joan, Christy, and Glenn Grossman. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM on Thurs. Dec. 15th at the funeral home. Donations may be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Foundation or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
