Robert D. Boone, 77, entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 28 following a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was born in Brooklyn, New York to Carroll and Alice Boone. He started his career at the University of Maryland. He then transferred with his loving wife, Charlotte, to the University of Kentucky, Department of Tobacco and Health. Together, they developed a niche for acquiring property and quickly turned this into a career after leaving U.K. He loved his farm in Jessamine County and filled it with animals and pets from rescue shelters. When he wasn't working, he had a passion for flying. He was an instrument rated pilot and often flew his red Beechcraft Bonanza from Lexington Bluegrass Airport. He was a long-time member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. In addition to his wife he leaves to cherish his memories children Doug Boone, wife Amy; Mark Boone, wife Hilary; grandchildren Mitchell Boone, Megan Boone, Meredith Boone, and Andrew Boone. His family will honor him with a Reception on Sunday, April 17 at 1:30 PM followed by a Remembrance Service beginning at 3:00 PM to be held at St. Michael's Episcopal Church (2025 Bellefonte Drive 40503) in Lexington, Kentucky.
