Robert "Bob" J. Duncan , 89, entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 2, at Baptist Health Care. Bob was a native of Jessamine County born Jan. 15, 1926, to the late Robert E. and Mary Elizabeth Holiday Duncan. He was the loving husband of Dorothy J. Peel Duncan for 65 years who is also a native of Jessamine County. The Duncan legacy has been a part of Jessamine County for many years. His family was the original owners of the property which is now Maple Grove Cemetery and Bob was the fourth generation to operate the Duncan's Menswear located on Main Street. He attended his first 3 years of high school in Nicholasville and his last year at Kentucky Military Institute where he played football and later attend the University of Kentucky. He was a veteran of the US Army having served WWII and the Korean War, member of the Nicholasville Christian Church, Lions Club, Rotary Club, was a Kentucky Colonel ,and was administrator for Wilmore and Jessamine County Planning and Zoning. He leaves the Duncan legacy and his memories with his son Richard Morris Duncan, grandchildren Eric Robert Duncan, Heather Duncan Tooley, and Stacey Lynn Duncan Bridgers, as well as 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Robin E. Duncan II. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 9, with Rev. Chuck Ellestad officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his son in the Duncan family plot in Maple Grove Cemetery. Honoring him as pallbearers will be Eric Robert Duncan, Phillip Williams, Adam Brumfield, Ronnie Maples, and Alex Carter. Honorary bearers will be Eli's Breakfast Club.
