Robert Lee “Bobby” Sallee, 69, loving husband of April Wells Sallee for 49 years left his earthly home on Feb. 26, 2021, at St. Joseph East after a short illness surrounded by his family.  Bobby was a native of Highbridge, KY  born Aug. 16, 1951, being one of three children of the late Marion A. and Virginia Pearl Gibson Sallee.  He was a 1969 graduate of Jessamine County High School where he was a skilled athlete playing basketball and baseball.  He attended Martin Junior College on a baseball scholarship and graduated in 1974 with  Business Degree. He made his career in management working for several different factories  and retired from Trim Masters as Engineer Manager.   He later started his own electrical business helping people in our local area. He always enjoyed coaching and had the privilege of coaching his son in Little League Baseball. His love for the outdoors spilled out into camping with his family, working in his garden, and hanging out in the barn where he had a vast collection of signs.  In addition to his wife he will be fondly remembered by his children Heather Price, husband Eddie, Troy Sallee, wife Monica, and Ashley Hart, grandchildren Maggie South, husband Ethan, Laney Hart, McKinley Sallee, Brooklynn Hart, Shelby Hart, Trenton Sallee, Collin Sallee and Abby Carpenter, great granddaughter Scarlett Marie South, as well as his sister Bonnie Shewmaker, husband Kenneth and brother Ed Sallee, wife Diane.  He leaves many memories with friends, coworkers, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law Travis Hart.  A Remembrance Service will be held 1:00PM Friday, March 5, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home and Bobby will be entombed in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.  Honoring him as pallbearers will be his nephews Brent and Ryan Sallee, Chris Shewmaker, Shaun Wells, Timmy Wells, and Scotty Harrison. Honorary bearers will be Eddie Pike, Donny Welch, Jimmy Hammond, Bud Clem, Willie Reed, Kevin Wells, John McDaniel, Gary Young Billy Wayne Poor, Mike Arvin, Keith Wells, Larry Carter, Jack & David Elliott.   Bobby’s family will greet friends beginning at 5:00 PM on Thursday March 4 and ending at 8:00 PM at the funeral home.  They request masks be worn and social distancing practiced while visiting with them in honor of Bobby. Donations may be made in his memory to the Disabled American Veterans. The Service will be live streamed on the funeral home Facebook and YouTube channel at 1:00 PM Friday, “Good friends are hard to find and impossible to forget”.  Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home values nothing more than the loyalty and trust gives to us by the Sallee family to care for Bobby.
