Wilmore: Robert Clay Watts, 87, formerly of W. Linden, died Friday, June 19, at Wesley Village. He was a native of Jessamine County born June 3, 1922, to the late Letcher H. and Ada West Watts. Clay was the widower of Margorie D. Watts who died in 2006. He retired from the U.S. Navy and the University of Kentucky where he was the assistant to the manger of the Housing Department and had attended Bethany Christian and Mt. Freedom Baptist Churches. Survivors include his children Judy Tatum, Nancy Figg, husband Glen and Jesse Jackson wife Lucy, 5 grandchildren Leisa Proctor, husband Barry, Robert Tatum, Jr., wife Kellie, Bryan Jackson, Stacy Hager, husband Chris, and Jenny Wiley, husband David, 5 great grandchildren Alisha Phillips, husband Michael, Christopher Proctor, Brandie Tatum, Mathew Proctor, and Seth Hager, 1 great great granddaughter Kaylee Phillips, 2 nieces Carolyn Threlkeld and Sherri McMillen, husband Steven, 2 nephews Johnny Clay Watts, and Steve Watts, wife Gleisa, and 3 great nephews. He was preceded in death in 1986 by his brother Letcher A. Watts, Jr.

Services will be 1:00 PM Wed., June 24, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Barnes officiating. He will be laid to rest with his wife at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bryan Jackson, Chris Hager, Chris Proctor, Mathew Proctor, Barry Proctor, and Bobby Tatum. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Tues., June 23, at the funeral home.
