Nicholasville: Roger D. Bailey, 55, of Stephens Lane, die Fri., Aug. 18,at St. Joseph Hospice Care after a long illness. A native of Pennington Gap, Va., he was born Sept. 25, 1950, to the late Theodore and Edna Carmen Bailey. Roger was a brick mason, a farmer and owner of Bailey’s Mobile Home Park, and had attended Tabernacle Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Becky Mathews Bailey, 4 children Darrell Bailey, Nicole Vannoy-Scharbrough and husband Troy, Jason Bailey and wife Darlene, and Shelby Bailey, six grandchildren who were the joy of his life Ethan and Brooke Bailey, Mason and Peyton Vannoy, and Hope and Dylan Scharbrough, 2 sisters Sue Perdue, N.C. and Mary Ann Kirk, and husband Clayel, Va., 3 brothers, Will Bailey, Va., Wayne Bailey, Wilmore, and James Bailey, Lexington, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters Alice Blevins and Carolyn Cope.

Services will be 1:00 PM Mon., Aug. 21, at HAGER & CUNDIFF FUNERAL HOME, W. Oak St., with Rev. Lonnie Moore officiating, burial in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Tommy White, Charlie Combs, James Vannoy, Jim Flinchum, Morris Murphy, Mac Stip, and Bob Vittow. Visitation will be today (Sunday) from 1 to 6 PM at the funeral home.
