Ronnie Lee Sparks, Sr., 72, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 4, 2023.  He was born on November 21, 1950 in Lexington to the late Elmer and Betty Oliver Sparks.  He was a proud US Army veteran, having served our country during the Vietnam War from 1969-1972.  Ronnie was a self-employed painter and enjoyed watching war movies and historical documentaries in his free time.  He like to go fishing and was known to have a soft spot in his heart for cats.  Ronnie will be greatly missed by his daughters Gina Buckler, husband Larry, and Melissa Davis, husband James, as well as his ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  He leaves fond childhood memories with his brother Danny Sparks and sisters Sandy Crank and Ruth Bishop.  Ronnie was preceded in death by three sons:  Ronnie Lee Sparks, Jr., Matthew Sparks, and Michael Sparks.  Ronnie will be laid to rest at Camp Nelson National Cemetery with military honors in the coming days. The family has chosen private family services.  “Taps:  Day is done, gone the sun, from the lake, from the hills, from the sky.  All is well, safely rest, God is nigh.  Thanks and praise for our days ‘neath the sun, ‘neath the stars, ‘neath the sky.  As we go, this we know.  God is nigh.”  Hager & Cundiff values nothing more than the trust placed in us to care for Ronnie and his family.
