Nicholasville ----Ruth Shannon Reynolds Johns, 92, widow of Fred Johns, peacefully went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, January 5th, 2014, at the VA hospital, Lexington.
Mrs. Johns is a native of Jessamine County born August 1st 1921 to the late Lindsey and Katherine Mulchy Reynolds.
She is an United States Army Veteran having served in the Woman's Army Corp (WACS) in World War II.
She is survived by her three children, Eva (Dana) Marsee, Nicholasville; Fredda (Ron) Jacobs, Harrodsburg; Bart (Gina) Johns, Nicholasville. Additional survivors are eleven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, one brother Wayne (Helen) Reynolds. Lawrenceburg, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lindsey and Katherine Mulchy Reynolds, a son, Shannon Johns and daughters Karen Gay Kelly and Katherine (Kitty) Thompson as well as eight siblings.
Funeral services will be 1 PM Friday January 10th, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Johns Officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 till time of service at 1:00 PM. Private burial will be in the Cobb Family Cemetery.
Honored to serve her as pallbearers, will be, Adam Watts, William Daugherty, Erin Thompson, Matthew Lee, Malcolm Miracle,William Reddington and Jerome Peel.
