S.L. "Lin" McCuddy, Jr. 78 left his earthly home to join his Savior and beloved wife, Sheila Juan Becknell McCuddy on Sunday, May 15th. He was a native of Fayette county, born January 26, 1938 to the late Sterling Sr. and Marie Wilson McCuddy.
Lin was a retiree of IBM and a Veteran of the U.S. Marines. He was a member of Nicholasville Christian Church, serving as Deacon and actively participating in the Refugee Ministry.
A kind, caring, people-person with a great sense of humor, Lin was loved and appreciated by many. He was always eager to help others whenever he could. Lin had also been an employee of Hager and Cundiff and served as a Nursing Home Ombudsman.
Lin leaves his legacy with his sons, Mitchell L. and Duane McCuddy, grandchildren, Samantha Jo, Chase (Tiffany), Andrew (Paige), Brett, Ethan and Lindsay McCuddy, Austin White, and great grandchildren, Harrison and Harper McCuddy.
Others that will cherish his memory include a brother, William Pryor (Debra), sister-in-law, Phyllis Muncy (Bady), aunt Eudel Kurtz, and numerous other family members. Lin was preceded in death by an infant sister, Genevieve and brother, Virgil L. McCuddy.
Honoring him as pall bearers will be Chase, Andrew, Brett and Ethan McCuddy, Brent Muncy, and Josh True.
Friends will be greeted by his family Wednesday, May 18th from 4-8 p.m. at Hager and Cundiff Funeral Home. A remembrance service will be held Thursday May 19th at 11 a.m. at Nicholasville Christian Church. Lin will be laid to rest beside his wife, Sheila in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Nicholasville.
