Sherry Lynn Mitchell

Nicholasville: Sherry Lynn Cheek Mitchell, 50, became a true angel on Sat. Feb. 18, at Good Samaritan Hospital. Sherry was a native of Jessamine County born Sept. 7, 1961, to Bobby and Cricket Shelton and widow of Paul Cheek and Tandy Mitchell. Collecting angels and country items was her hobby. In addition to her parents she is survived by her companion of 11 years Jeff McClean, a son Justin Paul Cheek, sisters Pat Hammond husband Mike, Donna Barnett, and Carolyn Caldwell, husband John a grandson Adams Spears and special cousins Charlotte Barron, Pam Salley, and Jana Lynn Brown. She was preceded in death by a son Robert Eugene Cheek and sister Robin Shelton. A Service of Remembrance will be held 1:00 PM Tues., Feb. 21, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Stinnett officiating. She will be laid to rest at Maple Grove Cemetery. Honoring her as pallbearers will be nieces Angie Davis, Misty Chapman and Tara Wyman and nephews Chad Hammond, Mike Hammond, and Heath Shelton, Honorary bearers will be Greg McClean,Sammy McClean, Jr. Laura ‘Sissy’ Presley, Ray Barron, and Ronnie Young.
