Nicholasville: Shirley McClure Denton, 75, widow of Donald L. McClure since 1969 and Allen Denton since 2001, left her earthly home on Monday, Sept. 14, at St. Joseph Hospice Care Center surrounded by her devoted family. A native of Woodford County born July 17, 1940, to the late Lindsey M. and Anna Cliff Durham. She was a devoted homemaker and mother to her children Yvonne Scott, husband Joe, Wanda McClure, James McClure, and Debbie Denton grandmother to B J Scott, wife Christie and Austin Lee McClure, and great grandmother to Cheyenne and Shelby Scott. Shirley was one of 13 children leaving her childhood memories with brothers Cecil and Jerry Durham and sisters Linda Butcher, Wanda Kelley, Barbara Jones, Joann Westfall and Ruby Conders. She was preceded in death by 5 other family members. A Remembrance Service will be held 11:00 AM on Friday, Sept. 18, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. Honoring her as pallbearers will B J Scott, James McClure, Kenneth McQueary, Andy Mastin, Austin McClure, and Tim Brumfield. Honorary bearers will be Joe Scott, David Butcher and Cheyenne Scott.
