Thursday morning February 22, 2018, the Gibson and Hager family lost one of the most pure souls they believed ever stepped foot on earth. Stephanie K. Gibson, 43, also known as Steph or Sissy, passed after an unexpected extended stay in Saint Joseph Hospital. She was and still is the reason her loved ones recognize the good in every situation. She was full of only positive attributes of which everyone wishes they had and had a heart that only knew love. Although she had little to nothing by today’s standards, she taught those around her some of the most valuable lessons they ever learned. She gave so much to every person she met, whether that be a hug, encouragement, a laugh, a hand crafted gift, or an opponent when playing board games. To most people these acts might seem minuscule, but to the people who received them, they know otherwise. What she really gave was reminders to appreciate what you have and to use it for good, to spend as much time with your loved ones as possible, to not care who is watching and to dance anyways, to put yourself in another person's shoes and understand how they feel, to always bring positivity and love to any situation and that you can never spend enough time making memories. It will be difficult to enjoy life without Stephanie, but her loved ones are able to find peace in the fact that she is now spending eternity with her best friend, God. And that she has fulfilled any and all plans and purpose God had for her. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers. Ask that they are able to see the goodness in God even in this difficult time and that they will use the lessons Sissy taught them in their daily lives. Stephanie was the daughter of Nancy Gibson and late father Calvin Gibson. Her memories are cherished by all who knew her but held especially close by her niece Ali Lowry, sister Sherry Gibson, best friend Missy Goodlett and special friend Everett Wilhoite. A Remembrance Memorial Service will be 6:00 PM Tuesday, March 6 at Hager & Cundiff, and the family will greet friends beginning at 5:00 PM before the service. The family is requesting donations to be made in her memory to Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home website by going to the green donation button or by going by the office at 207 West Oak Street. Thanks to Stephanie's family for the obituary written with love.
