Steven Brennan Barnes

Steven Brennan Barnes, 61, left his earthly home at the VA Hospital Saturday, Feb. 15. He was a native of Pennsylvania; born June 25, 1958, to the late Chester Barnes and Phoebe Brennan. He was a father to Christina (Charles) Abney and Steven (Leah) Hardin. A talented man as an artist he worked with water colors, pens, wrote poetry and played the guitar. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed cycling as well as spending time at Keeneland Race Track. He will be fondly remembered by not only his children but by his grandchildren Logan, Sarah Hardin and Conner Abney, Brothers; David (Sue) Barnes, William (Joy) Barnes, Ted Barnes and sisters Carolyn (Bo) Sowards, and Carla Barnes. A private Graveside Memorial will be held at the Lexington Cemetery. In accordance with his wishes Steven was cremated and his remains will be placed with his Mother. “As you danced in the light with joy, love lifted you, as you brushed against this world so gently you lifted us."
