Susan Hilda Wood

Susan Hilda Wood, 99, of Wilmore died Thursday, April 22, 2010, at Royal Manor Nursing Home. A native of Jessamine County she was born Sept. 29, 1910, to the late Joe R. and Linnie Welch Wood. Hilda was a founding member of Wilmore Christian Church, a graduate of Wilmore High School, an avid UK Wildcat basketball and Cincinnati Reds baseball team fan. She loved gardening and flowers she was a true farm girl. Survivors include 2 nieces Betty Cox and Mary C. Thompson both of Burgin. She was preceded in death by a brother James E. Wood.

Services will be held 11:00 Saturday, April 24, at Wilmore Christian Church, with Rev. Johnny Davis officiating, burial Wilmore Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike, Doug, and Steve Reynolds, John Barrington, Billy Dan Bottom, Marty and Glenn Grossman. Honorary bearers will be Carl Corman, Jr., Richard Wells, Virginia Kemp, Elizabeth Amburgey Lucille Canter, June Cartwright, Lois Reed, Tammy Horton, Joanie Grossman, Jan Houp, Cindy Cartwright, Christie Grossman, and Sharon Davis. Visitation will be from 10 AM until time of service at the Church. Donation may be made in her memory to Wilmore Christian Church.
