Wilmore: Terry Clark Morgan, 79, husband of Margaret Morgan for 46 years died at his homeafter a brief illness. He was born in Michigan Feb. 1, 1933, to the late Harley Lafayette andMary Madeline Morgan.
In addition to his wife survivors include sons Michael Morgan and Craig Morgan wife Cheryl, grandchildren Hannah Grace and Evan Morgan, and brotherCharles L. ‘Chuck’ Morgan wife Barbara, nieces Chelsea Nienabor husband Bob and Ellen Pelfrey,husband Brad, a great niece and 2 great nephews.
Terry was a graduate of Lafayette High Schooland the University of Louisville, with degrees in Art and Music. He was a long time owner,President-Sales Manager of A.B. Dick Products of Lexington, retiring in 1998, during whichtime he was outstanding in sales and in teaching his staff. On his Jessamine County Farm,StoneLedge he raised cattle and tobacco and was an advocate of no till crops, terracing histobacco cropland and the finishing of steers for market program, all early projects of theUK College of Agriculture.
He was a former member of the Beef Cattle Association and workedwith the County 4-H Program in several capacities. As a preservationist , his home is onthe National Register of Historic places and has maintained the stone fence from the 1790s.
He was a former Secretary of the Lexington Art League, published Exhibits Catalogues for theLexington Camera Club and was past president of the Lexington Sertoma Club. He had servedon the Board of Directors of the Bluegrass Sportsman League, was Director of the Skeet andSporting Clays Division and treasurer of the Farm Committee. during which time he was withhis many treasured friends. Terry was a former Director on the Lone Oak Country Club Board,served as Trustee and Secretary on the Jessamine County Public Library Board, long time memberof the UK Faculty and Alumni Club, Spindletop Hall and was a UK Fellow.
He was a chartermember of the University of Louisville Faculty and Alumni Club. He enjoyed his AmateurRadio Hobby and talked to people all over the world. In keeping with his love of photographyhe participated in Exhibits at UK and also locally. Terry was a member of the WilmoreUnited Methodist Church. He participated in local outdoor dramas, Paul Sawyier Story andJessamine, he supported the Camp Nelson Civil War Site, assisted in efforts to restore theKentucky River High Bridge Park.
His Remembrance Ceremony will be held 1:00 PM Monday,May 21, at Wilmore United Church with Rev. Tom Cottingim and Rev. Mike Vorgts officiating,He will be laid to rest at the Lexington Cemetery. Honoring him as pallbearers will beMichael and Craig Morgan, Walter Bradshaw, Russell Weddle, Mike Nevins, Bill Jenkins,Billy Sallee, and Larry Sears.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 PM Sunday, May 20,at Hager& Cundiff Funeral Home and at the Church from 11 AM until 1 PM. Donations may bemade in his memory to Jessamine County Humane Society, Hospice of the Bluegrass
and Wilmore United Methodist Church Clark Chapel restoration Commitee .
